ON THE VIE FERRATE OF THE BRENTA
One-day excursion. Via ferrata “Alfredo Benini”
The via ferrata “Alfredo Benini” is a belaid and secured trail that connects the Grostè pass with the Tuckett hut crossing the Eastern slope of the Grostè mountain.
We will reach our starting point, the Grostè pass, by gondola lift or jeep (see previous excursions). From there, we will start climbing using a first via ferrata created along natural ledges, typical of the famous vie ferrate of the Brenta group, the so-called Bocchette. We recommend you to look back at the via ferrata after we have passed it – watching other hikers passing it is an interesting pastime.
The first secured part of the trail finishes descending to the Bocchetta dei Camosci (2784 m.) from where we have a lovely vista of the Adamello-Presanella group.
However, we only pass the Bocchetta dei Camosci, the trail is immediately continuing along ledges of the slopes of the Cima Falkner. We will also pass a metallic plate with the indication of the highest point of our excursion (2910 m.).
Belaid and secured passages ensure that the most exposed and dangerous parts of the trail can be done in absolute safety. Our final arrival point before redescending to the Tuckett hut is the Bocca di Tuckett (Tuckett’s mouth, 2648 m.) from which the Tuckett hut can already be seen.
The return is via Vallesinella.
Duration: whole day

Two-days excursion. Via ferrata “SOSAT” or Bocchette Basse
We will leave in the afternoon to reach the Tuckett hut where we will stay overnight (see previous two-days excursion).
In the morning, we will then leave using one of the numerous vie ferrate of the Brenta group which offers spectacular views of the Adamello-Presanella group. The via ferrata will be of moderate difficulty, but should however not be underestimated due to the iron ladder of 20 meters.
The passage is initially curling through a labyrinth of huge blocks and is then reaching an unexpected viewpoint at the edge of the Crozon di Brenta. Thanks to metal steps, we can cross a deep canyon to reach the ledges running horizontally along the Southern flank of the Punte di Campiglio.
From the end of the via ferrata we will descend the trail to the Brentei hut which was built in front of the Crozon di Brenta and Cima Tosa.
The return is via Vallesinella passing the Casinei hut.
